Alter Me offers top quality dressmaking in Auckland that includes pattern-making. As dressmakers with extensive experience, we can form the perfect fit for all of our clients. Our clients are welcome to bring in their own design, or an existing garment that they love, in order for us to remake the clothing to your specifications.

How does it work?
(While there is no charge for consultations for dressmaking in Auckland, a minimum cost of $40 will apply when we come to you. Price is charged based on location.) 

    1. Initial Consultation  Come and meet one of our friendly staff, or we can come to you! In your initial consultation we talk through what you want and guide you towards the best designs and fabric ideas.
    2. Placing your Order   Before going ahead, we will give a quote for the work along with our fitting and payment terms.  If you decide to proceed, we schedule you in for your fittings. From here one third deposit will be required before proceeding further.
    3. Taking Measurements    We take full body measurements to ensure a perfect fit of your garment(s).
    4. Selecting the Fabric   If you haven’t found the fabric that you want we can shop for you keeping your specific needs in mind. This would include a minimum fee of $50 for travelling costs. We offer a personal fabric shopping experience where your dressmaker comes with you and helps you choose the best fabric direct from the shops. 
    5. Toile Fitting   All new designs are toiled so you can be 100% sure to get the right fit. Once you are happy, we require a second payment to be paid to proceed.
    6. Final Fitting & Collection  We require the final payment before/at the time of delivering your garment.
How long does it take?
Every garment is different therefore the expected time-frame for dressmaking for Auckland customers will vary. Occasionally, please do allow a minimum of 3 weeks to complete the entire process.
How do you pay?
  • The cost of the work, including all fitting costs, is paid in 3 installments:
    • 1/3 deposit
    • 1/3 at the toile fitting
    • 1/3 at the final fitting & collection period
  • The cost of the fabric is paid in full at the toile fitting, if bought by us
  • Cash and cheques are applicable. If paying by internet banking a record of a successful 
    payment has to be shown. 
How much does it cost?
  • Every garment is different and a full costing will be given to you verbally before you
    place your order
  • There is no charge for an initial consultation 
  • All other fitting costs are included in the quote as standard
